Natural Musgravite

Musgravite is a very rare gemstone that was previously misidentified as taaffeite. I believe it was Dr. Karl Schmetzer that discovered 3 unusual taaffeites in the late Dr. Gubellin’s collection and they turned out to be musgravite. As far as I know, Musgravite had already been discovered as a mineral specimen in Antarctica and it was named by some other mineralogist. Now all the labs know about it and I'm sure many of the stones previously identified as taaffeite will be retested because musgravite is even more rare and valuable. A scientific report about musgravite is in process and I will post more information as soon as it is available.
